Meet Summer, Our Rarest Australian Labradoodle

Summer was born here at Walls Family Doodles on June 19, 2025. We knew from the moment we saw her coloring that she was special. Tri-phantom roan. It's the rarest color combination you can get in an Australian Labradoodle.

She now lives with her guardian family who call her Reese. They fell in love with her sweet personality and couldn't imagine life without her. Guardian families are an important part of our program—they give our breeding dogs the full-time love and attention of a family home while we handle all the breeding responsibilities.

At 27 pounds, Summer is a mini Australian Labradoodle. Her coat is stunning. Chocolate brown base with tan eyebrows, tan chest markings, and tan leg points (that's the phantom pattern). Then add white markings on her chest and paws. Top it all off with silver-gray roan ticking scattered throughout—tiny speckles that sparkle when light hits her fur just right.

Her coat feels soft and wavy, like running your fingers through silk. It's the perfect texture families hope for when they search for Australian Labradoodle puppies for sale.

Why Summer's Coloring Is So Rare

Most Australian Labradoodles are solid colors—chocolate, cream, red, black. Some have parti patterns (big patches of white). Fewer have phantom patterns (the tan points on face, chest, and legs).

But Summer has two copies of the roan gene. That means every single puppy she has will inherit roan ticking. Most breeders have zero roan dogs in their program. We specifically bred for this because families love the unique, speckled look.

The tri-phantom part means she shows three distinct colors: chocolate, tan, and white. Phantom markings are controlled by specific genes that create those tan eyebrow dots and leg points you see on breeds like Rottweilers and Dobermans.¹

When you combine tri-phantom AND roan, you get a color combination that appears in less than 1% of Australian Labradoodles. That's why we selected Summer for our breeding program.

Summer's Personality: Smart, Sweet, and Obedient

Summer takes after her mother, Cherry. Cherry was one of the sweetest dogs we've ever known. She had this habit of gently holding our daughter's hand in her mouth—not biting, just holding—and walking around with her. Our daughter would giggle and run, and Cherry would trot alongside, still holding her little hand.

We see that same gentle patience in Summer.

She's extremely smart. When we work with her, she watches our faces, waiting for the next command. Tell her "sit," she sits. "Stay," she stays. No hesitation. She wants to please.

Guardian families often tell us their Australian Labradoodles are the easiest dogs they've ever trained. Summer is no exception. Her family says she learned house training faster than any puppy they've had. She knows when it's time to play and when it's time to settle down.

When Summer visits us in Anderson, she and Sarge play nonstop. They wrestle, chase, and tumble through the yard until they're both panting. But the second we call them inside, they switch modes—calm, waiting patiently for the next cue.

She's perfectly content being left alone during the day, but the moment her family gets home, she's ready to cuddle or play—whatever they want.

Health Testing: Proven Genetics for Your Labradoodle Puppies

Before Summer ever has puppies, we completed comprehensive health testing. We want proof she's healthy and can pass good genetics to your future family member.

OFA Hip Evaluation: Fair hip conformation with no signs of dysplasia (evaluated at 5 months with preliminary certification)

OFA Elbow Evaluation: Negative for elbow dysplasia

OFA Eye Clearance: Normal, free of inherited eye diseases (certified through December 2025)

Orivet Genetic Health Testing: Clear for 35+ genetic diseases including:

  • Degenerative Myelopathy

  • Exercise-Induced Collapse

  • Progressive Retinal Atrophies

  • Von Willebrand Disease

  • Copper Toxicosis (carrier for one variant but will not develop disease)

  • Centronuclear Myopathy

  • And 29 more conditions

These results mean Summer doesn't carry the harmful versions of genes that cause painful or expensive health problems. Hip dysplasia can make dogs limp and need surgery as they age. Progressive retinal atrophy causes blindness. Von Willebrand disease causes dangerous bleeding.¹

By testing before breeding, we make sure Summer only passes healthy genes to puppies. That protects your family from heartbreak and protects your wallet from thousands in vet bills.

You can view all of Summer's health certificates on our website or during a visit to our Anderson home.

Our Next Litter: Summer and Ryder

Summer is a future mom in our breeding program. She's passed all her health tests and has an amazing temperament. We're planning to pair her with our upcoming male, Ryder.

Ryder is also a mini Australian Labradoodle with exceptional intelligence and a playful personality. When we breed Summer and Ryder, we expect:

Size: 20-30 pound adult mini Labradoodles

Coat Type: Soft, wavy fleece coats with minimal shedding

Coloring: Every puppy will inherit roan ticking from Summer (she has two copies). Colors will vary—some chocolate like Summer, some may be red or cream depending on Ryder's genetics. All will have that beautiful speckled roan pattern.

Temperament: Smart, trainable, gentle with children, calm indoors but playful when it's time to run

These puppies will be raised with our Puppy Culture program, which means they start learning from day one. By the time they come home at 8 weeks old, they've already experienced crate training, potty training, grooming tools, car rides, and meeting new people.

Australian Labradoodle Puppies for Sale: What Makes Summer's Puppies Special

Families choose Australian Labradoodle puppies for sale from Summer because of her rare genetics and proven temperament.

Guaranteed Roan Pattern:
Summer has two copies of roan (R/R). That means 100% of her puppies will have roan ticking. You won't find this guarantee from most breeders. Families tell us they get stopped everywhere they go because people want to know what breed their speckled dog is.

Hypoallergenic Coats:
Summer has furnishings (the proper coat gene) and a fleece texture. Her puppies inherit low-shedding, allergy-friendly coats. Many families with severe allergies successfully raise dogs from our program.

Smart and Trainable:
Intelligence runs in Summer's bloodline. Her puppies learn commands quickly and remember them. Several families have told us their vets or trainers recommended their puppy for service dog work.

Health-Tested Parents:
Both Summer and Ryder are fully health tested. We have certificates proving their hips, elbows, eyes, and genetics are clear. This dramatically reduces the chance your puppy develops expensive health problems.

Gentle Temperament:
Summer's calm, patient nature gets passed to her puppies. They're gentle with children, adaptable to different households, and content to relax when you're relaxing.

Mini Australian Labradoodle Size Guide

Summer weighs 27 pounds—about the size of a Cocker Spaniel. When we pair her with males in the 25-30 pound range, puppies typically grow to 20-30 pounds as adults.

Is a mini right for you?

Good fit:

  • Apartment or townhome living

  • Families with young children (easier to manage than 50+ pound dogs)

  • First-time dog owners

  • Want a dog that fits comfortably on your lap

  • Travel frequently (smaller dogs are easier to transport)

Consider medium instead:

  • Large property with acres to roam

  • Very active lifestyle needing a running partner

  • Want a bigger presence for home security

Our medium Australian Labradoodles weigh 35-50 pounds if you want to compare.

Tri-Phantom Roan Color Explained

People ask us all the time: "What does tri-phantom roan mean?"

Phantom = Tan points on a darker base color. Think Rottweiler or Doberman markings. Tan eyebrows, tan chest, tan on the legs.

Tri-Phantom = Three colors total. Summer shows chocolate (base), tan (points), and white (chest/paws).

Roan = Silver-gray hairs scattered throughout the coat creating a speckled or ticked appearance. The roan pattern is controlled by specific genes that cause pigment-producing cells to distribute unevenly.¹

Summer has two copies of the roan gene (R/R), which means she'll pass one copy to every puppy. Combine that with her tri-phantom pattern, and you get puppies that look like no other Australian Labradoodles.

When puppies are born, the roan ticking isn't always obvious. As they grow over the first few months, those silver-gray speckles become more visible. By one year old, the pattern is fully developed and stunning.

Guardian Home Program: How It Works

Summer lives with a guardian family in Indiana who provide her with full-time love and attention. Here's how our guardian program works:

The Guardian Family:

  • Gets an exceptional Australian Labradoodle to love and raise

  • Receives the dog at no cost (we cover purchase price)

  • Keeps the dog as their pet for life

  • Brings the dog to us for breeding when the time comes

Walls Family Doodles:

  • Retains breeding rights

  • Covers all breeding-related expenses (health testing, vet visits during pregnancy, whelping)

  • Raises the puppies at our Anderson home for 8 weeks

  • Returns mom to her guardian family after puppies are weaned

Why This Benefits You: Guardian dogs get the best of both worlds—full-time family life with occasional visits to us for breeding. They're happier, better socialized, and produce calmer puppies than dogs raised in kennels.

Summer's guardian family adores her. She goes on daily walks, plays with their kids, sleeps on their couch, and lives a normal dog life. When breeding time comes, she visits us for a few weeks, then returns home.

Our Labradoodle Breeding Program: Anderson, Indiana

We raise Australian Labradoodle puppies for sale right here in Anderson, Indiana—not in a kennel, but in our family home at 2824 N 200 E.

When Summer has puppies, they're born in a quiet bedroom. They hear normal house sounds from birth—dishwasher running, kids laughing, TV playing. This early exposure builds confidence.

Our Puppy Culture program means puppies experience:

Weeks 0-2: Early Neurological Stimulation exercises that research shows help puppies handle stress better as adults

Weeks 3-4: Different surfaces (carpet, tile, grass, gravel), household sounds, potty training introduction

Weeks 5-6: Crate training, grooming tools (brushes, nail clippers), car rides, meeting new people and dogs

Weeks 7-8: Temperament testing, individual attention, practicing "sit" and coming when called

By the time your puppy comes home, they have a head start. Families tell us Summer's puppies housebreak faster and adjust quicker than puppies from other breeders.

Frequently Asked Questions About Summer and Her Puppies

What generation Australian Labradoodle is Summer?

Summer is a multi-generational Australian Labradoodle. Both her parents and all four grandparents are Australian Labradoodles. Multi-gen breeding produces the most consistent puppies—predictable size, coat type, and temperament. You won't find surprises like shedding coats or unpredictable adult sizes. Her complete pedigree is in her WALA registration.

Will all of Summer's puppies have roan ticking?

Yes! Summer has two copies of the roan gene (R/R), which means she passes one copy to every puppy. If we pair her with a male who also carries roan, some puppies will have two copies (very heavy ticking). If we pair her with a non-roan male, all puppies will have one copy (moderate ticking). Either way, every puppy gets the roan pattern.

How much do Australian Labradoodle puppies from Summer cost?

Our Australian Labradoodle puppies are $3,000 regardless of color, pattern, or gender. This includes Puppy Culture training, health guarantee, WALA registration, first vaccines, microchip, and lifetime support from us. We don't charge extra for rare colors like tri-phantom roan. Visit our pricing page for payment options.

Are Summer's puppies truly hypoallergenic?

No dog is 100% hypoallergenic, but Summer's puppies come very close. She has the furnishings gene (F/F) which produces low-shedding fleece coats. These coats produce significantly less dander—the thing that triggers most allergies. We've had dozens of families with allergies successfully raise puppies from our program with zero reactions. If you have severe allergies, we encourage you to visit and spend time with our adult dogs before committing. They have the same coat type puppies will have.

When will Summer have her first litter?

Summer is a future mom in our breeding program. We wait until our females are fully mature (typically 2+ years old) and have passed all health testing before breeding. This protects their health and ensures they produce the healthiest puppies. Apply to our waitlist now, and we'll notify you when Summer's first litter is planned.

Can I meet Summer before reserving a puppy?

Summer lives with her guardian family, so she's not always at our Anderson location. However, we can often arrange visits when she's here, or you can meet our other parent dogs to see similar temperaments and coat types. You'll also meet Ryder, her planned mate. Many families visit 2-3 times before their puppy is born. Contact us at 317-608-9260 to schedule.

What size will puppies from Summer grow to?

Summer weighs 27 pounds. When paired with males in the 25-30 pound range (like Ryder), puppies typically mature between 20-30 pounds. At one year old, they're about 90% of final size. By 18 months, they're fully grown. We can show you photos of past puppies from similar pairings during your visit to give you a better idea of adult size.

What health problems has Summer been tested for?

Summer passed OFA testing for hips, elbows, and eyes. She also completed Orivet genetic testing for 35+ inherited diseases. She's clear for everything tested except she carries one copy of a copper toxicosis variant (ATP7A) but will not develop the disease. She doesn't carry genes for degenerative myelopathy, exercise-induced collapse, progressive retinal atrophy, Von Willebrand disease, or any other major genetic conditions. We have certificates for all tests available to view.

Is Summer available for stud services or breeding to other breeders?

No, Summer is exclusively part of our Walls Family Doodles program. We maintain full control over her breeding to ensure all puppies receive proper Puppy Culture training, health guarantees, and go to carefully screened families. This also limits her breeding to responsible levels that protect her health.
